Half-Way There!!!
Now that you are half-way through
your high school career, it is important to step-up your game. You
still have 14 more possible credits and each class you take impacts
your GPA. Core classes impact your academic average, which is important
for scholarships and college admission. Work on a plan to make your
last 2 years of high school your best. As always, please feel
free to drop by the Counselor's Office if you have any questions or
concerns. I hope you have a great 11th grade year!
Important
Information for Juniors:
- Miss Sample will meet with all juniors during the month of
September to discuss credits, graduation requirements and
college/future plans.
- Each September Lee-Scott hosts a college fair. All juniors
should attend. This is a great opportunity to learn more about
colleges and universities you may not have previously considered. See
the school calendar for the date of this year's fair.
- Also in September, Miss Sample conducts a parent meeting for all
parents of 11th graders. During this meeting, information such as
college, scholarships and graduation will be discussed in detail.
- Contact the college or university you are interested in to set-up
an on-campus
visit.
- Be sure to contact those people who you would like to write
letters of recommendation. Provide them with a stamped addressed
envelope and a copy of your resume' or "brag sheet" so they can
personalize your letter. What is a
brag sheet?
