Test-Taking
Tips
- Use the 4 A's of Test-Taking:
- Advance
Preparation (Review, Reread, Flash Cards, Come Prepared)
- Ask (Ask
Questions to the Teacher, Your Friends and Yourself)
- Attitude
(Be Positive and Organized, Rest, Eat, Relax, Exercise, Pace Yourself,
Lean Forward and Concentrate)
- After the Test
(Learn from Mistakes, Review Honestly, Decide How to Improve)
- While you study for a test, jot down key words, dates and
other
facts on a sheet of paper. Use the sheet to refresh your memory
the night before a test.
- Ask a parent or older sibling to create a practice test for
you
by making up questions from your textbook or class notes.
- Be sure you understand the test directions. If they
aren't
clear to you, ask the teacher to help.
- Remember to keep your cool. Take a moment to breathe
deeply
and relax before starting a test. Relaxing will help you focus.
