HELLO LEE-SCOTT PARENTS!
CHARACTER WORDS
May 3-7 Loyalty
May 10-14 Sportsmanship
GOLF TEAM – STATE CHAMPS - Congratulations
to the LSA Golf Team for winning the
AISA State Championship last week!
NATIONAL MERIT QUARTER FINALISTS - Congratulations
to Nick Stone and Luke DeBaets who
were selected as National Merit Quarter
Finalists. They were among the highest
50,000 scorers of all 1.5 million
eleventh grade students nationwide
who took the PSAT test in the Fall.
BUSHES REMOVED - Several people have inquired
about the removal of the bushes along
the walkway from the parking lot to
the front of the buildings. These bushes were removed because
there was a safety concern regarding
visibility and the attraction
of bees.
TUITION REMINDER - For
those families on a 12 month tuition
payment basis, please remember that
the final payment for this school
year is due June
1st and that the first payment for
the 2010-2011 school year is due July
1st.
ANNUAL FUND - Our donations to the Annual Fund
have increased to approximately $180,000!
With a goal of $200,000 for the LSA
Annual Fund this year we are almost
there. We greatly appreciate all of the donations that
have been made. These funds are used
to benefit our school and our students
in ways that tuition does not cover. If you would like
to make a donation to this year’s Annual Fund
and help us reach our goal, please
direct all gifts to the LSA Development
Office.
SOCCER BANQUET - Soccer Banquet is tonight
at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. At the potluck
dinner we will celebrate the 2009-2010
State Champs! Great job Warriors and Coach Baubles!

PHILANTHROPY 101 - LSA has an exciting three week
summer program for rising seniors that brings the principles
of philanthropy to life. This is the
third summer that this program has
been offered to rising LSA seniors. We have 11 students who applied
and were accepted to
the program this summer. Students
become more keenly aware of society’s growing needs and
begin to develop the understanding, desire, ability, and instincts
for philanthropic service. Students
visit a variety of nonprofit agencies
and foundations and hear speakers from a number of charitable
organizations. Philanthropy
101 is generously funded by The W.
James Samford, Jr. Foundation. Students are given a certain amount
of money to donate to one
non-profit program of their choice
after reviewing several in our area. They are required to prepare
and present a PowerPoint
presentation at the culminating ceremony.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students! If you have
any questions about
this program, please contact Christy
Garner. <
