LSA Names New Upper School Principal

Please join in our welcome of Dr. Ty Ford as the new Lee-Scott Academy Upper School principal!
Dr. Ford will begin his 27th year in education this fall as the principal of the upper school at Lee-Scott Academy. He has served 11 years at the middle school level as a math teacher, and 15 years at the high school level as an administrator and classroom teacher. Over the course of his career, Dr. Ford has had the opportunity to coach several sports and academic teams, which have included state championship campaigns in both cross country and MATHCOUNTS.
After graduating from Auburn High School, Dr. Ford earned his Bachelors of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education from Auburn University. He then completed his Masters of Science in Secondary Mathematics Education at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Dr. Ford then returned to Auburn as the recipient of the Dennis Sabo Memorial Fellowship to earn his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Auburn University.
Dr. Ford has been married for 23 years to Traci Bridges Ford, and they have been blessed with 4 children. Abigail, who is at home in heaven with Jesus since 2009; Grace, who will begin nursing school at Auburn University at Montgomery this fall; Luke, who is a recent graduate of Auburn High School; and Lilly who will be a high school junior this fall.
Dr. Ford and his family are members of Lakeview Baptist Church in Auburn. He enjoys spending time with his family, camping and hiking, and playing golf. He has served as minister of music in a handful of churches, taught both children and adult Sunday school, and has served as a deacon in his church in the past as well. He is humbled, honored and most of all excited to begin his service to the students and families of the Lee-Scott Academy Warrior Nation!
