Donna Lloyd Named Upper School Principal
Lee-Scott Academy is pleased to announce that Ms. Donna Lloyd has been named the Upper School Principal for Lee-Scott Academy effective January 1, 2020. Ms. Lloyd has served as interim principal since June 2019 and was Director of Student Services prior to being named interim at LSA.
“I am excited to remove the interim from Ms. Lloyd’s title, and am confident her unique background working in education, primarily in middle and high school grades, is a great match for LSA. Her leadership and unique approach these past six months in leading our faculty and students in the upper school has laid a foundation for our future that I am excited to be a part of,” Dr. Stan Cox, Head of School.
Ms. Lloyd has served for 34 years as an educator having taught in Anniston City and Jacksonville City Schools. She is certified in elementary and middle school grades, and taught science, social studies, and in the gifted program in 6th – 10th grades. She served as a school counselor and testing coordinator in an elementary school setting before stepping into an administrator role at the central office, serving as the Special Education Director and Federal Programs Director of Jacksonville City School for nine years. She has been a part of the Lee-Scott Academy family for five years serving as a school counselor, testing coordinator, and Director of Student Services before being named interim Upper School Principal.
Ms. Lloyd graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. in Secondary Education and Psychology. She received her M.A. in School Counseling from Jacksonville State University.
She resides in Opelika, and attends Church of the Highlands where she serves on the Dream Team. She has two children: Ashley (Blake) Field and Blake (Beth) Lloyd, and two grandchildren, Charlie and Hudson.
