International Students

How the Process Works

Lee-Scott Academy welcomes International students and is committed to cultivating a school community that provides a rich learning environment. Over the years we have welcomed students from Brazil, Canada, China, Cyprus, Honduras, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. These students have enriched our school community as well as successfully transitioning into our school culture.

Lee-Scott Academy seeks academically-minded students looking for a school where they will have opportunities to be actively involved in a variety of activities. International students have the opportunity to learn about American culture, gain fluency in english, and assimilate into our educational system in preparation for attending American colleges and universities. We offer all students enrichment activities in the arts, athletics, community service and extracurricular activities so they are well prepared for the challenges after high school. We also look for students willing to educate our students about their culture and background.

F-1 visa students should submit an application along with academic recommendations and proof that they are proficient in reading, writing and speaking in English. If the student is unable to visit campus, we require a telephone interview as part of the admissions process. Our school is authorized by the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) to issue the I-20 form required to obtain a visa for appropriate international students. Students then take the I-20 to their US Embassy or Consulate for admission to the United States. Once the student arrives in Auburn they will be required to give Lee-Scott Academy their 194 form. At this time, tuition for one semester must be paid in full.

Lee-Scott Academy does not have a discounted tuition rate for International Students. We also do not provide ESL classes. Students are immersed into our academic program. LSA is not a boarding school and we do not provide housing for International Students. We expect the placement agency or the family of the student to secure appropriate housing.
